CRAWLER

Crawler cranes can be easily identified by its carrier section, where as the name suggests, the crane moves around with crawlers instead of wheels. Movement wise, most crawler cranes are equiped with a rotating structure that allows the boom to rotate 360 degree to allow ease of material transportation. Crawler cranes are usually bulky and heavy, and so based on the model type, the load capacity can reach up to 3000 metric tons, with a height reach of upto 700 feet.
Here are a list of advantages and disadvantages of a crawler crane:
Advantages:
Crawler provides more stability, so that less setup is needed
Provides more mobility as crawler crane can move around site even when loaded
Less risk of sinking when moving around soft ground
Disadvantages:
Due to its weight and size, crawler crane cannot be easily moved between sites. Requires dismantling
Usually higher cost
