ROUGH-TERRAIN

Rough Terrain Cranes typically have four rubber wheels with a 4-wheel-drive transmission to aid the movement around off-road conditions. It is typically used in off-site construction as the name suggests, and due to its type of tires, tranporting Rough terrain crane between sites in highways can be difficult. Unlike Crawler crane, a rough terrain crane need an outrigger to help the crane stabilize while lifting loads, hence it does not allow it to move when load is lifted. This crane is typically smaller in size, the boom usually can reach a height upto 200ft depending on the model, and can lift load upto 200tons.
Here are a list of advantages and disadvantages of a crawler crane:
Disadvantages:
Though not as complicated as crawler crane, tranportation between site is still not an easy task
Need an outrigger to stabilize when lifting load
Limited height and load capacity
Advantages:
The rubber tires provide greater mobility in off-road
Compared to crawler crane, rough-terrain is much more lightweight
